Party party party!
It was another big weekend for me. I went down to Cork for a friend's 21st (Jacinta Scully) with the Nix's and a bunch of others from Dublin. It was on the Friday night so after work I raced home, grabbed a bag, got ready, and raced to the train station where I caught the 7pm train down to Cork with Dee, Hendo, and Fanning. The 3 hour journey was definitely livened up by their presence as we started drinking on the train. When we got there we caught a taxi to the bar that it was at and got there at about 10.30pm. We then proceeded continue to drink, dance and laugh the night away.
The bar closed at about 2.30am when we all went back to the Scully's house. Only the 'adults' were allowed the luxury of a bed at the Scully's so the rest of us crammed into the lounge like sardines and attempted to sleep. Unfortunately, due to the fact that there were 10 or so of us in the lounge and a lot of us were still in party mode, we didn't really get much sleep so the next day we were all pretty exhausted.
However, after a late big breakfast fry-up, we decided to go into town for the afternoon and watch the Manchester United vs. Spurs soccer match at a pub. Some of the others chose this as a good excuse to get stuck into the pints again but I wasn't feeling too crash-hot so stuck to the non-alcoholic beverages for the afternoon. It was a good match though and we had a laugh for the afternoon before the lads had to catch the train back up to Dublin and I went over to my Aunt and Uncle's house for the night.
It was a quiet night at the McAuliffe's as I watched TV with my cousins. The next day however, after going to Mass with my cousins, we all went around to my Great-Aunt Aideen's house for lunch where a lot of her nine kids and their kids were along with my Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and cousins. It was great to catch up with the family again and spend some time with them before catching my train back up to Dublin last night.
So I am exhausted at work today and am not looking forward to the long week ahead but at least we have our house-warming party coming up this Saturday night which should be fun!
