what u don't want my money?

After having started working at Vodafone Ireland last Monday, having a bank account is extremely helpful in getting paid. This 'previlage' is something that doesn't come by very easily from my recent experiences. The banks I've approached have asked me "book an appointment" as they don't open accounts without them. Thats the first I've heard it. An appointment? what happened to strolling into ASB, handing over your drivers licence and a cashflow card & everything is fine and dandy?
Anyway, ontop of that you need hardcore ID & your proof of address. This is something that can be hard to obtain when you've just arrived into a country with no UTILITY Bills in your name - kinda hard to pay bills without a Bank Account but its kinda hard to get a Bank Account without a UTILITY Bill, almost a chicken & the egg thing :-D
Work has been pretty cool. The brand new Vodafone Ireland building is 'deadly' - Irish way of saying COOL/AWESOME. It has 1 cafe, 1 deli, 1 canteen, 1 dairy, 1 gym all under the same roof. Glass everywhere, great views all around. Its just great!
More on life in Dublin later!
