I Got Tickets!!!

U2 on their home ground baby yeah!! I am soooooo excited!

Tickets went on sale this morning at 8am and both concerts of 80,000 tickets were sold out by 9.30am. Quite a few people chose to camp out in front of the ticketmaster stores last night but I chose to get up at 5.45am and be in the queue by 6.30am. Meanwhile I had recruited Johnny to try the website and phone lines - I really wanted these tickets!

At 7.30am the people in the queue got numbered to keep it orderly and I was number 138 (I luckily chose a less popular store to queue outside of).

At 8am the doors opened and people started buying their tickets. The queue was moving slowly but by 8.45am we had already learnt that all of one concert was sold out and there were only seated tickets left for the second one. I thought my chances were slim...

At about 9.15am I was about 12th from the front of the queue when Johnny rang to say that the websites were saying both concerts were completely sold out. I thought I had no hope but remained in the queue just in case.

I reached the front of the queue at about 9.20am and was the next to be let in the store to buy tickets when we were told that they weren't going to let anyone in for a moment as they had to see if there were any left. I stood there in nervous anticipation until they announced they only had a few left and would only be letting four more people into the store. I ran to the counter and ordered my tickets!

A few moments later, just as I was leaving the store, one of the managers of the store stepped out and told the rest of the queue that they were completely sold out - there were no more left! I was one of the last people to get tickets! Lucky or what!?!

So now I am soooooo excited!! The concert is on June 24th and promises to be fantastic! I can't wait! Yay!
