Long Time no Type!
And so much has happened in the last couple of weeks too!
Despite getting up at 5.45am to get U2 tickets that Friday, I went out with my work mates for drinks that night and had a great night. They are a fun bunch who know how to drink (despite being accountants) and I ended up having to run away from them at 1am to get home to bed! Ha ha!
The next day, friends of ours from New Zealand arrived to stay a few nights. Aneela and Palkesh are now living in London and had come over to Dublin to go to the Westlife Concert (as well as see us of course!). So we took them into the very touristy Temple Bar that night for a few drinks. The next day was pouring down with rain but we were determined to show them a bit of Dublin so we went for a walk around before settling in 'The Woolshed Baa and Grill' (as 'The Outback' has now changed it's name to) for dinner and a few drinks to celebrate Waitangi Day. It was a good atmosphere, we got to watch the Rugby Sevens replays, the singer was singing as many NZ songs as he could think of, and there were even a whole bunch of guys that got up and performed the Haka for us! Yeah! The four of us then went off to watch Oceans 12 at the cinemas next door to top of the night.
Aneela and Palkesh stayed with us until Wednesday night and although Johnny and I had to work during the day, we all caught up in the evenings and we enjoyed having some other Kiwis around.

As you may know, last week it was Chinese New Years and we decided that we would like to celebrate it with a party on Saturday night. Unfortunately a lot of people had other plans for the weekend (being Valentines weekend) so it ended up being fairly small but tonnes of fun as a few of us sat up playing drinking games until about 4am - hilarious stuff! As well as the alcohol, our Chinese New Years was good fun as we ate Chinese food, decorated our apartment with Chinese pictures and sayings, and gave little red packets to our loved ones.
On the Sunday after Johnny's hockey game we went along to visit the Chinese New Year Festival which was set up in Dublin. Despite being an absolutely freezing evening, it was really interesting with it's different Asian foods, market stalls and performances. Worth a visit.
We have lots of photos to put up for the last couple of weeks so remember to pop back to this site in the next day or so as they will be coming soon!
