Foxy Johnny at Johnnie Fox's!

Besides having to pack for my trip home, this weekend was a busy one - not that we were complaining!

It started out on Friday night when Johnny and I decided to take a night out together and have dinner out. We were planning on eating at a really nice looking Japanese restaurant called Yamamori Noodles but ended up eating at an Indian restaurant called Shalimar instead - very yummy!

On Saturday we were invited out with a bunch of Aussies and a couple of Kiwis that we knew. Their plan was to watch the South vs. North Hemisphere rugby match (yeah! Go the Southern Hemisphere!) at The Woolshed and having a few drinks before travelling together to where we would be eating dinner. However, due to the amount of packing etc. that I needed to get done, we decided to meet them at 6.30pm, when the taxi-van was due to pick us up. We met with them and travelled the 40 minutes or so to Johnnie Fox's, where we had a table booked for dinner.

Johnny Fox's is this amazingly atmospheric pub that claims to be the 'highest pub in Ireland' (although we don't know how true this statement really is). It is great fun with live Irish music every night of the week. You can either attend the 'hooley night' which is dinner and a show, or you have the option of just dinner and listening to the live music. The latter option was the one we went for and we didn't regret it! It was great fun, the music was fantastic, the company (about 14 Aussies and Kiwis) was a barrell of laughs, and the mainly seafood menu was delicious! This is a restaurant that is definitely worth visiting - tourists and locals alike!

Today we celebrated both Ophelie's birthday and Des', as well as Irish Mother's Day and we went around to the Nix's house for a yummy dinner with all of the Nix's including Sarah and Granny Nix before returning here to do more organisation for my trip. Not long to go now! Yay!
