Something to celebrate...
Wednesday 25/08/05
On 25th of August last year, we touched down at the Dublin Airport & saw the beginning of our "Big OE in Ireland". 1 year later, we celebrated this day with a surprise (kinda) dinner at home with a little bit of alcohol :-) I had deviously mislead Rebecca to believing we were going out for dinner all the while I had intended to order take aways in our living room. Geez, it sounds bad put that way... It was a candle-lit surprise dinner & Rebecca, after having gotten changed & put on make-up, was surprised to take that short walk into our living room hehe. We had lots of fun that night and we look forward to another year in Dublin!

Saturday 27/08/05
We signed up to TEAM NEW ZEALAND in the Nations Netball Tournament. There were 6 teams in all from Northern Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia & Ireland - who entered 2 teams. It was a very full day of action & anxiety for the team as we battled our way through to the finals to play off against South Africa. We met Australia for the 2nd time in the semi's and after a narrow win against them in the first round (9-8), we bet them by (18-10). However in the final, after a hard solid battle, South Africa prooved to be the better team & took the title - Pitty they lost the Tri-Nations :-D. Later on that night we had the prize giving at the local OZ/Kiwi pub the "Woolshed" where we claimed our prizes & I even got a prize for "The individual that kept on falling over & losing his glasses" award!! check out the photos to see the interesting "prize" :-)

Apart from that, we also had Emily & Peter from Oxford over to visit over the weekend. It was the same touristy drill which included the Dublin City Tour bus, Temple bar, Guiness Brewery etc. We also went to Dublinia which has on display, the story of Dublin and about the Medieval Vikings influences. They also explain the origins of the name "DUBLIN" - see pics.

This week will most likely see us recovering, yet again. Also possibly starting to pack our things as we are moving out of our flat in 2 weeks!!
p.s. Go the All Blacks!!
