London Town

One Tuesday a couple of weeks ago, work sent me over to their Watford (about half an hour out of London) office for some training so I decided to take the Monday off work and make a long weekend out of it! A chance to catch up with friends and get in a bit of shopping in the big city of London!

So, on the Saturday afternoon I flew over to London for a few days. My good friends Kath and Dave (Kiwis) most hospitably gave me a couch to crash on and from where I could base myself for the few days so Saturday night was spent catching up with them. Sunday after Mass I was treated out to lunch by our friend Steve (another Kiwi) and then I met up with mates in the famous 'Walkabout Bar' in the very antipodean-ised (let's pretend its a word!) suburb of Shepherds Bush (or She-bu as it is often referred to as). Well, the Walkabout was a bit of a messy experience but it was good fun to catch up and spend time with old Kiwi mates such as Nina, Hamish, Aneela and Palkesh, Steve, and of course my Canadian friend Erin!

Monday was spent shopping on Oxford Street and picking up some Christmas bargains before travelling to Watford where I spent the night at the Watford Hilton (paid for by the company of course!) before attending my day-long course the following day and flying back to Dublin the next night.

It was a flying visit to London and unfortunately I forgot to get very many photos (apart from drunken pub ones! I keep forgetting to be a tourist!) but a good laugh and thanks so much to all my mates who made it memorable! To quote good old Arnie: I'll be back!
