World Cup Fever!
Being much more of a rugby than a soccer (or 'football' as it is called over here) supporter, watching more than one game of soccer a year is new to me, let alone watching more than one a day! However, with the pubs packing out all over Dublin every day, the soccer being the biggest topic of conversation in any circle, and all the news being focussed on it, it is hard not to get into the Football World Cup over here! I have even entered a 'Fantasy Football' competition with my work mates whereby you pick players for your fantasy team and you get points based on how those individual players play. Granted, I just picked my players based on how funny their names were or whether or not they were good looking, but I still entered! Ha ha! Ah well, all in the name of fun!
Other than the football, Johnny and I haven't been up to too much besides work unfortunately! However, last weekend we had a bit of a laugh at the Fairyhouse Horse Races! Our gym organised a Corporate Box, lunch and transport there and back so we went along for the laugh. Unfortunately the bookies had the last laugh on us as we ended up losing more than we won but we didn't bet much so it wasn't too bad - just a fun day of jumping around screaming at horses as they ran past!
So that is what we have been up to in June really, July starts next week though and with my sister arriving next week, lots of trips planned with her, and two birthdays to celebrate there will be lots more news to tell you all so keep checking!
