and anutha visita!
Whoa! what have we been up to in the last few days...
Last Thursday-Friday, my team had our 'workshop/away day' in a newly built Radisson hotel in near Cavan town (in the Farnham estate - posh posh) and my gosh was the hotel fancy! Every room comes with its own widescreen LCD TV and majestic decorations. Downstairs is a indoor/outdoor swimming pool (the indoor pool has an external pool connected via a sliding glass door in the pool itself, so you can simply slide open and swim outside!). There is a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna & a Laconian spa (I think that was the name). You can definitely tell no dime was spared in building this hotel! That Thursday night was as per usual Irish gathering i.e. lots of drinking and sing songs followed by Golf on the Friday with a hangover :-)
All while I was 'working' in Cavan, Rebecca welcomed our 12th visitor this late summer... Robyn!!! Robyn came over and stayed with us for 5 days to explore a little bit of Ireland. And explore we did! Over the weekend, we took a nice little wee drive out to Trim Castle (once the capital of Ireland in the ancient Norman times), Newgrange - only to find it closed at 4:30 :-( & Powerscourt, followed up with dinner at Johnnie Foxes. Actually, apart from Robyn, we also had the company of Rebecca's new Aussie workmate Melissa and her friend Yvan visiting from Paris with us. So I guess that makes it visitor 13? (if we count Yvan? :-D) And another of Rebecca's work mates, Carmel, and her fiance Barry, joined us for dinner.
p.s. anyone looking for landscaping ideas for their backgarden, I recommend taking a look at what the lovely guys have done at Powerscourt with such a ... conservative budget.
