Canberra & Sydney!

Okay so it has taken me a while to get around to posting about my trip home but while Johnny is cooking dinner I thought that I would finally do it. Here goes...

First stop on my trip was good ol' Australia! I stopped in Sydney and was nicely picked up at the crack of dawn by my relative Carol (thanks Cass!). And, being the good Catholic girl I am we went straight from the airport to Mass! After Mass Cass took me back to her place were I had the opportunity to shower and catch up with my Sydney rellies before people arrived for a yummy BBQ!

At about 3pmish our good friends Anita and Jez arrived and joined us for a drink before the three of us headed off on the road to their home town, Canberra! Yay!

I spent the next two nights in Canberra exploring this pretty city and catching up with Anita and Jez. I took a tour through the cool Parliament Building which is built into a hill, wandered past the Old Parliament Building and along the waterfront, spent hours in Questacon (a hands-on science centre) with Anita, took in ANZAC Avenue and the War Memorial (the outside anyway) and watched the sunset from Mt. Ainslie. Lots of fun and it was so cool being able to catch up with our friends that we met in Dublin!

On the Tuesday it was off back to Sydney for a night to catch up with more friends that we met in Dublin: Australians Ben & Jeannie and Canadian Erin! I also took the opportunity to catch up with one of Johnny's groomsmen Keegan and another Dublin girl Edel. We caught up over dinner and a few pints but it was a reasonably early night for us all due to being a school night and I had to get up early the next morning for my flight! But more about that in my next post...

A quick THANK YOU to Carol, Anita & Jez and Ben & Jeannie for your fantastic hospitality - always great to see you guys!
