strikes strikes strikes!
I'm sitting here as talks of strikes loom over Aer Lingus (Irish national carrier) next week as a result of pay cuts, while the workers at Dublin Bus are on strike over 2 new routes which means the drivers will end their shifts in the city & are forced to take their breaks in the city rather than at the depot - big deal if you ask me. I'm sure unions are a good idea but it seems that people here will go on strike for almost anything with the unions fueling their agendas (agendae?)
Then again, all that might be driven by the fact that its gotten really really cold & really really dark lately and everyone is depressed again :-) And just to make sure we stayed chirpy, Rebecca & I went out & celebrated our 1 year engagement anniversary on November 5th (we had to find some excuse :-D) I can't believe its been a year already! that means the wedding is only 137 days away!! (see our wedding website)
We've also had Rebecca's family friend Andrew Coulam staying with us for the past week and a bit. Andy has just come over from NZ via France (following the Rugby Worldcup) to do his big OE. Good choice at coming to Dublin over London I say!
Anyway, what are you all up to? send us a mail, drop us a line!
p.s. for those with Irish roots (which is probably almost 99% of you :-), here's the TodayFM(popular radio station in Ireland) Morning Breakfast Show Pod Cast. They do really good jokes & sketches of current affairs particularly on sports headlines with the classic Irish sense of humour. Subscribe to it for a chuckle or two, its free!
