arriba arriba!!
Well, it would seem that Johnny has this habit of skipping the country whenever there's any sign of any major commitment... last time it was to Europe just after the two of us met, now its off to Mexico just after we got married! :-D
Just kidding :-) Johnny is in Mexico city with work for 2 weeks in Santa Fe (see in GoogleMaps). Santa Fe is a bit out of the main strip in Mexico City. Its kind of a new suburb developed out of a landfill site to become the commercial hub where you'll find the big companies such as ABN-AMRO, Telefonica Ericsson etc. It's also a bit cut off from the rest as everything is a taxi ride, there are no busses connecting Santa Fe to the city centre.
It's been interesting so far, it's not as hot as I would've guessed and it rains a bit (so I feel right at home :-D). People drive like crazy here too, they come belting down roads here that would have no apparent speed limits, really old green vee-dub beetles as taxi's & they don't seem to use the meter either, you have to negotiate a fee when you get it or else you are likely to get ripped off (good luck with that when you no hablar espanol).
On the upside, Corona's are $8peso's here which is about €0.50 which just amazing considering they are about €1.80 back in Dublin. Although don't let that fool ya, restaurants here are not that cheap. A meal in the restaurant will still cost you €25 or there abouts.
Anyways, thats about all so far, only been here for 4 days and haven't had much of a chance to look around. There's rough plans to go sight seeing a bit over the weekend... apparently there are some pyramid like things from the Inca people to see around here...
