We Are Leaving!

Yes, we are actually leaving Ireland! After 5.5 years living here we have decided that the time is right for us to move on from this green isle that we have grown to love so much.

And are we finally moving home to New Zealand you may ask?

Well... no. Not just yet.

We are moving to TAIWAN!! Yes that is Taiwan, Johnny's birth-place, that country in Asia off the coast of China. This place:



We will be based in the capital, Taipei. Our priority is for me (Bex) to learn Mandarin so I will be studying that part-time whilst hopefully teaching English part-time. Johnny is lucky enough to be able stay with his company and will be picking up the work in Asia while basing himself from Taiwan.

So for the last few weeks we have been preparing for the big move. I have handed in my notice at work, I have done a TEFL (Teaching English as a Second Language) course, and now we are in the midst of packing up all our things and saying our goodbyes. It is amazing how many things we have managed to accumulate over the years living here!

As for saying our goodbyes, we don't actually leave until mid-October but as we are spending 10 days in Germany at the end of this month our calendar is filling up fast! For those living in Ireland, keep an eye out for the dates of the leaving drinks!

And for those living in New Zealand, don't worry we will be back to live there eventually... perhaps even in the next 5 years! ;-)
